STATEMENT
The largest theme that I constantly reflect in my work is the identity, understood as the mirror that reflects the visions of the others and how society allocates a role for each one of us. I’m interested in understanding how the individual, collective or objectual identities are generated and how they are channeled through visual representations. Regarding this line of research, I work on the connotations and meanings that involve the use of the portrait. At the same time I search for the conception of image itself, especially focusing on photographic media. This interest on the ontological status of the image has led me to investigate about the many aspects of the vision, the sight and the perception. These concerns are materialized in projects where the image is usually the main medium although I’m also interested in intangible practices such as actions or relational processes.
